We have been discussing craft for several seasons and seen a gentle and gradual amplification in the fashion market. But now something else seems to be happening and feels like a paradigm shift from the industrial to the crafted, from the serial to the unique and from the fast to the slow; sometimes exasperatingly slow which is a new way to test our patience. Provoking another way to conceive fashion, thinking stitch first and foremost, and letting all other ideas fall into place at their own pace.

Entering a moment of great disruption, moving house, quitting jobs, choosing isolation and redirecting one’s life — at a time of great crises that include war, a sick economy, major shortages of goods, old and new viruses and the most scary question of all, our environment, we therefore propose craft not just as the embellishment it brings, but more so for the way it can heal and construct, easing the pain and encouraging happiness by creating beauty. We know and believe that creating beauty is a form of activism, so this webinar is a manifesto for survival in the direst of times.
